Feminist Governance Toolkit

For boards and board members of specialist gendered violence services in Queensland using intersectional, feminist values, frameworks and practice principles.

The Feminist Governance Toolkit supports board members to connect with and understand the purpose and context of the work the service they govern provides.  It is designed to complement (but not replace) specialist Not-For-Profit Governance and Cultural Governance Training which can be accessed through other providers and the WorkUP event calendar https://workupqld.org.au/whats-on/.

The Toolkit was developed with input from specialist gendered violence services.  This helped us to understand the capability requirements of boards of these types of services and what they need to know to govern services supporting women, children, gender-diverse peoples, families, and communities.

The Toolkit resources can be read and viewed in chunks or sections and are designed to be easy for busy board members to engage with.  Services may wish to embed the Toolkit into board induction processes and use the reflective questions and activities to support continuous learning and development.

WorkUP Queensland is committed to continuous improvement of these resources.

Constructive feedback and suggestions can be shared via this survey link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FW6YVM8 or by emailing workforce@healingfoundation.org.au.
