Walking Together, Learning Together: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mentoring Partnerships Program

WorkUP Queensland’s “Walking Together, Learning Together mentoring program aims to strengthen the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander sector workforce. It does this by investing in a mentoring program that strives to cultivate committed, learned and responsive workers.

This project is intended for any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Domestic and Family Violence, Women’s Health or Sexual Assault worker who wishes to participate in mentoring for their own career development and growth in the sector.

The emphasis of this program is on creating a safe cultural space for the group and as well as the mentoring partners to build a strongly supportive professional relationship which meets their career development needs. To maximise engagement, connection and the building of relationships based on trust, the program will be coming together for three lots of two-day face to face workshops.

Embedded into this program is an emphasis on creating a safe cultural space for the mentoring partners and the group as a whole to build a strongly supportive professional relationship which meets their needs and preferences.
