What’s on

What’s on at WorkUP Queensland is our regular email bulletin providing up to date information about our professional development opportunities.

Our learning approaches are underpinned by the principles of being: sector drive, culturally safe, experiential, evidence based, leveraging practice wisdom and facilitating reflective practice.

Our induction and foundations courses are offered regularly and other courses and workshops are scheduled in response to need, new ideas or feedback.

Welcome to Our Sector is the statewide induction course designed to induct people to the sector, with introductory level information about the history of the sector, practice considerations and important guiding documents. Providing an overview of the key issues, challenges and opportunities in the sector, as well as the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders. This course is ideal for anyone just starting out in the sector and will help you build your knowledge and networks.

This course evolved from conversations across the state that identified a need for new workers to connect with each other and increase their understanding of this sector’s purpose, practice and resources. We have delivered this regularly over the past few years and recently updated the content to keep it current and relevant.

Foundations of Domestic and Family Violence Practice, delivered by QCDFVR. This course provides foundational level practice information and is for anyone working with victim survivors, children and young people, or perpetrators of abuse.
