South West Workforce Planning and Data Snapshots

Workforce Planning Snapshot

WorkUP Queensland has undertaken several stakeholder engagement activities since July 2019 to engage the sexual violence, women’s health and domestic and family violence sector in the development of plans to build a strong and skilled workforce. These activities aligned with key stages of our workforce planning model and enabled WorkUp Queensland to gain a clear understanding of each region’s vision for the workforce, key workforce priorities and existing workforce assets and gaps.

The Workforce Planning Snapshot provides an overview of WorkUp Queensland’s work so far including future actions to design and develop the regional and state-wide workforce plans.

Once finalised the workforce plans will guide WorkUp Queensland’s work delivering initiatives to build the capacity and capability of the sexual violence, women’s health and domestic and family violence sector.

Regional Workforce Data Snapshot

WorkUP Queensland has collected and analysed data from individuals and organisations within the sexual violence, women’s health and domestic and family violence sector. This information has been used to develop regional workforce snapshots which provide a baseline of information to inform and track our work.

The data gathered has been combined from two separate surveys pitched at individual workers in the sector and representatives from organisations.

Individuals were asked to provide information about the work they perform, location, industry experience, skills and demographic information. 155 individual responses were received.

Representatives of organisations were asked to provide similar information but from the perspective of the organisation, sector, labour market environment, services offered and organisation size. 28 organisations provided responses including: Central Queensland (3), Moreton (8), Northern Queensland (11), South East (3) and South West (2).

WorkUP Queensland is continuing to build and update the workforce data snapshots. Individuals and organisations from the sexual violence, women’s health and domestic and family violence sector are invited to complete the survey if they haven’t already.
